The National Archives hosts the Air Force’s Project Blue Book fact sheet language that still structures public memory of the 1947–1969 investigation: 12,618 sightings processed; 701 left labeled Unidentified; project terminated 17 December 1969. Records live at NARA; there is no open Air Force investigative shop behind the brand name.

Residual is a label

“Unidentified” in Blue Book usage is an Air Force residual category, not a Ledger endorsement of extraterrestrial craft. Batch-6 press recirculation in September 2026 put the framing back in circulation beside PURSUE clips — useful timing for an archival cite file. Status cited.
